The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, is one of the largest civic bodies in the world. Operating on a budget of over Rs 5,500 crores (US $1.34 bn), the area covered by it is a modest 437 sq kms, but the population it caters to is a mammoth 16 million. Its service efficiency isn't exemplary, but certainly better, when compared to similar other urban bodies in India.

  • Corporation spends lots of money on road repair, but it goes in drain as there no proper supervision. debris l lie scattered on the road. Contractors do not take care to remove debris from site after completing road work. Corporation supervisors to do not bother to keep road clean and walk able. It causes hardship to pedestrians. In Malad on S.V.Road Stretch between Maharaja Apartment and Ramchandralane is in very bad condition. Contractors do the superficial work and go away. Corporation Supervisor also do not check the work. Even when new roads are made they are not leveled and surfaced properly. Alots of pot holes are visible on the newly made road. It is high time corporation improves the working so that tax collected from citizens is not wasted.
