A theater in Mariupol, Ukraine was constructed in 1956-1960 in the approximate location of the former Church of Mary Magdalene.

The theater was largely destroyed by Russian airstrikes on March 16, 2022.
The Associated Press estimated that as many as 600 people were killed in the attack.
On the the Theater Square there was the big inscription "Дети" ('Children'), which was visible from the air and remained on satellite images.
