Chicago Water Tower (Chicago, Illinois)

Built in 1869, this, and the adjacent pumping station were among the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago fire in 1871. They still function, but supply only the horse drinking fountain on the square. The Water Tower and the Pumping Station across the street were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
