Abandoned in 1939 little remains of a cabin, mill building and a water tank. Although he ceased operating the mill, Moorten continued to mine in the area through the 1950s. He was the founder of Moorten Botanical Garden in Palm Springs, an actor, and consulted with Walt Disney on the design of Frontierland's western theme.
