Former site of W.P. Bate public elementary school. In the fall of 2006, the school was relocated to a new building on 18th Street West, at the north end of Meadowgreen Park. The old school was demolished and replaced with Dutchak Park in 2008.
The park honours Michael Dutchak, a pioneer in the emergency medical services sector of Saskatchewan.
