Marilyn M. Keough Hall was dedicated on September 27, 1996, and is one of the newest dorms on campus along with its neighbors McGlinn Hall, O'Neill Hall, and Welsh Family Hall. Despite its young history Keough has established itself as an up and coming dorm with great enthusiasm and brotherhood. Every fall the dorm hosts "The Keough Hall Chariot Race" in which the different sections within Keough, as well as other dorms build their own chariot to race against one another. This signature event lasts all day and is followed that night by a dance. In the spring, Keough has another dance called "The White Wedding" in which the members of the dorm create a comical mock wedding ceremony for other members of the dorm and their dates. Later in the year the dorm hosts another event called "Aussie Fest", which usually wraps up the year with a cookout, games and music. The University of Notre Dame has a long and distinguished history, as do many other dorms.
