The museum is one of several Victorian-era homes the sculptor Elisabet Ney had built around the United States after immigrating from Europe. The house includes her studios, a tower study, false bookcase, and bedroom (if you count the roof on which she tended to sleep). The museum also has a large collection of her sculptures, including those of monarchs, scientists and revolutionaries.
