This "trail" provides access to the south rim of Mt. St. Helens. It is a fairly steep climb, first through a balsam forest, followed by a long climb over volcanic boulders, and finally an ascent up a cinder layer to the crater rim.

Ummm.. A Balsam Forest? Balsam firs do not grow normally in the Pacific Northwest.
