So named for the 3 bridges seen in the upper right hand corner of the area. This was used as a quasi-military training area for the 9th Hospital Red Flag exercises held twice a year. The hospital staff would come out for 3, 3 day encampments in the spring and fall and go through a M*A*S*H* type training. An Ad-Hoc OPFOR team made up of members from the 13th Armored Division Living Museum (from the Beale Museum) would provide NATO and Warsaw Pact military forces during these exercises to bring a sense of realism unsurpassed at other Air Force Bases.
