Remarkable event and a unique point of reference in the theatrical Ekaterinodar's life was the completion of construction in 1909, a new theater building at the corner of Red and Gogol streets called - Winter Theater. This is where city's audience enthusiastically applauded the art F. Shalyapin, L. Sobinova, E. Geltzer. It was in this building on April 9th, 1920 was based «first Soviet Drama Theater named Comrade Lunacharsky». This date is officially considered to be his birthday Krasnodar Drama Theater. Its creation had been involved V. Meyerhold, S. Marshak, D. Furmanov.
In 1943, building the Winter Theater was detonated leave the city after one year of occupation by German troops. More than a decade Theater placed in random, not adapted for full-fledged creative work spaces. It is only since the mid 50's. When it was restored ruins, began a gradual revival of old professional team opportunities.

For a quarter century of his work as chief director (early 60-ies), he has collected and brought up a strong actor's troupe, defining for many years the general line of development of theater in line with the best traditions of Russian realistic art scene. Many Kulikovskiy's students and today make up the color of Krasnodar troupe. This folk artists of Russia Igor Makarevich, Kuznetsova, A. Ghorgool, Honored Artist of Russia S. Gronsky, I. Stanevich, O. Svetlova. The theater was twice awarded the creative reports in Moscow in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses premises and Theater of Mossovet.
In 1973, the theater spravil new apartments in the new building in the area of the October Revolution Plaza. And in 1980 in its 60 - year anniversary, was awarded the government awards - the Order of the Red Banner.
