This is the first branch of celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver's new and fairly innovative shop / cookery school concept - apparently there are plans to rol out other branches down the line. You can buy ingredients for Oliver’s recipes, and then have a choice of assembling them into a meal in-store with advice & guidance from trained chefs, or taking them out and and cooking at home.
The shop also sells Oliver’s ready-made meals to cook at home, a mix of (mostly fairly locally sourced) food & ingredients, and kitchen and cooking equipment.
Its bright pink shopfront makes quite a presence on the high street, and despite bravely opening in the depth of the recession it seems to be doing good business.
