The village of Marash (Shumen District) is located in North-East Bulgaria and is included in Municipality Shumen. It is situated about 10 km south from Shumen, 95 - 100 km away from the Golden Sands resort, about 110 km away from Albena resort. The river of Kamchia pass about 1 km from the village.
The entrance of the village passes natural tunnel formed from the branches of many walnut-trees around the route toward the village. Marash is urbanized and asphalt-paved. There is a big natural spring fountain - Geranlivata cheshma near the center of the village. Other thermal mineral spring (temperature 68°C) is located 100m from village center. The water has proved healing qualities and is suitable to heal diseases of the locomotory system and skin diseases. The quality of the spring is near to the qualities of Karlovi vari. The municipality of Shoumen is engaged to develop it in a resort. The village of Marash have an agricultural airport on which the Festival of Pepper and Tomato is held.
