Sukea Street is named after Madam Sukea who had lived here about 100 years ago. Now known as Mahendra Sreemani Street, and houses the famous Sreemani House. At a stone throw distance is the house of Vidyasagar, Ram Mohun Roy. Bose Institute is very close to Sukea Street. Water Logging during the monsoons was a problem that has been solved after the high power drainage pumps that have been put at Rishikesh Park. Raja Ram Mohon Roy had two houses, the one at Acharya Prafulla Chandra (APC) Road, is the office cum residence of the DC North. The other is now a college that bears his name. APC Road is the 300 year road, earlier called Lower Circular Road. Sukeas Street is at the junction of APC Road and Raja Ram Mohon Sarani. Served by the post office and police station that bears the name of the Raja.
