It was also the cultural hub of colonial Calcutta, housing renowned theatres and cinema halls along Cornwallis Street. Located amidst the neighbourhoods of Shyambazar, Shobhabazaar, Simla & Gouribari, Hatibagan is roughly bissected by Cornwallis Street & Grey Street.
