Second World War 1939-1945, abandoned / shut down, bunker, closed / former military, underground facility
There is little left of this building. Originally built as a three story "L" shaped bunker. This was the main communications bunker with four giant radio antennas located on the northeast corner. Along with the 3 above ground stories, there are also three underground levels. The Russians leveled most of the structure when they abandoned the site. Over the main entrance of the bunker they built a small shack-like building and then sealed off the entrance to the lower levels. There was a giant dead tree located beside the structure which was eventually toppled on top of the building and is actually visible in this photo! Also of note are about a dozen dugouts surrounding the building in which the Russians parked tanks in during their stay. (More later)
