  I am doing research on Kumandur, an ancient village known for Sanskrit scholars. Kumandur, according some people, was washed away in floods several centuries ago. Some of the Sanskrit scholars were reported to have moved to villages in Thanjavur district. Not sure if this village (Kumandur) was near Mamandur village in Tamil Nadu or whether it was in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. Appreciate if any one can provide some historical evidence or details.
