Residence designed c. 1929 in the Dutch Colonial style by Chester A. Patterson for Josephine Bissell Roe Slade. It as subsequently owned by Henry Dennison Babcock, Sr {financier}. Babcock--who were the Slades' daughter and son in law--was a pasrtner in the stock brokerage firms of Hollister & Babcock and Withrop Mitchell & Co. His parents lived at "Ben Trovato" in Upper Brookville.
