SEPTA Barmouth Train Station (Abandoned)

USA / Pennsylvania / Narberth /
railway, abandoned / shut down, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), train station, historical layer / disappeared object

This stop along the SEPTA's Cynwyd line has been "temporarily" closed for over 20 years now. Some cite the lack of parking and amenities, others community opposition due to increased parking congestion in the neighborhood. The relatively steep grade this station sits on may also play a part in their decision.

Until 2008, this station was the absolute terminus of the track, as it had been removed between this point and the (also closed) Manayunk station when the Pencoyd Viaduct was rehabilitated. In late 2008, the track was finally removed between this point and Cynwyd station as the right-of-way will be added to the Schuylkill River Trail.
