This is the First Station after the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station towards the North. All passenger trains and some Express trains have stop at this station. Railway Hospital is located opposite side of this station. Pettah Railway Station is nearest to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, Pulayanarkotta T.B. Hospital, Ophthalmic (Eye) Hospital, General Hospital and Public Health Laboratory etc., etc.
