Harrison is Allegheny Energy's largest capacity power plant, producing up to 1,984 megawatts of electricity. Its three identical coal-fired generating units entered service in 1972, 1973, and 1974. The plant has one of the tallest chimneys in the world (305 m), built in 1994.
