This is the holy place for Telugu speaking Devanga Chettiar community people where the Goddess "Sri Ramalinga Sowdambigai Temple" situates which being their "Kula Theivam". Telugu Devanga Chettiar community people are basically weavers and in those days they were used to weave clothes for God. Even now, it is in practice in many temples the clothes woven by these community people will be compulsorily used before the commencement of any big festivals.
