interesting place, border marker
In 1956 the Kansas Turnpike dead ended right at this spot. Unfortunately, Amos Switzer owned the farm on the Oklahoma side of the road. As a result he found many cars in his field. Even after Kansas erected large barricade, lasted only 24 hours before three cars crashed through it. A year and a half, and 500 accidents later, his fields and the Kansas Turnpike where converted into I-35.
