Saint Ana Lake

Romania / Harghita / Baile Tusnad /
 lake, caldera, crater lake

At 946 m high, Saint Ana Lake (Romanian: Lacul Sfanta Ana, Hunagrian: Szent Anna tó) is the only Romanian lake which has a volcanic origin.
It has an easel shaped form. Almost distilled, the water is considered to be the purest in this world, but because of its leak in mineral salts, it is not drinkable.
St. Ana Lake and it's surroudning area is a natural reservation.
Down by the lake there is a Roman-Catholic chapel. The yearly Saint Ana's festival has become more of an artistic tradition than religious. The area, including the Mohos territory, is bound to Tusnadfurdo and Bikszad thanks to the existing paths between them.
