Jaladurga (Water fort)

it is a fortified riverine island with water on all sides. this island is surrounded by the river Krishna. A fort of this nature is called "Jaladurga" and is supposed to be impregnable. The fort was built by the Adil Shahi Kings and was an important one and has very high ramparts. the height is over 300-500' and it is said that undesirables used to be thrown from the ramparts into the gorge below. my wife also has this name which made me all the more curious to explore it.
