From September of 1957 to 1989, the former site of the Riverside International Raceway (RIR) hosted everything from NASCAR to the 1960 United States Grand Prix. The racetrack did recive changes to turn 9 in 1969 and was in use until 1989 when racing ceased at RIR.
Today, nothing is left of RIR and the property is now home to the Moreno Valley Mall at Towngate, a Fritz Duda Property.
The track you see in blue was RIR before the mall came in Moreno Valley in 1992
