Clinton Square is a public park. It dates back to a settlement known as Clinton Township that was founded around an embarcadero and ferry terminal at the base of 14th Avenue in 1854. The 1854 design for the park had winding paths, a gazebo, and a bandstand. It was redone in 1910 to make an open lawn. After another redesign in 1952, the official name was changed to Clinton Park and a park building was added.
