Cheyyar (Thiruvetipuram)

Thiruvathipuram is a town in Tiruvannamalai District near Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu state of South India. It gets its name from the Cheyyar river. The town has an ancient temple called Vedapureeswarar temple situated on the banks of the river. It has the legend that Thirugnana Sambandar, one of the four great saivite saint visited the temple and changed a male palm tree to flower by singing verses in Tamil.

The famous Vedapureeswarar temple is situated in cheyyar. It is a one of the powerful temple participate in our history. I hope if you have any problem means please visit this temple atleast once in your life then your life then it will changed automatically. I got one best friend in cheyyar. Bcoz of her only my life will changed, its all are happened by Lord Vedapureeswarar.

  • Really i proved of born in cheyyar, becuase beautiful and oldest temple in cheyyar, that is lord siva temple name as Vedhapurieaswarar. This temple have one historic story that is Gnanasampathar change the male palm tree into female palm tree by his poet. So this temple should famous for that. Every one wants to see in atleast one time. And my suggestions is government announced the tourist place for cheyyar. Becuase this temple is builted on 5th century it is very old temple.
