lab, workshop
Otherwise known as the AWPL, this lab is full of CNC machines (3 and 5 axis) used to shape wood, plastics, and metals, though the focus is primarily on wood. This lab employs the use of CADCAM technology to design pieces and program the machines. The AWPL is a partnership with Georgia Tech, and students can use the facility. The machines here are all demonstration pieces and are often sold, though new ones quickly replace them. This lab also aided in the production of the 2007 Georgia Tech Solar Decathlon House.
