An urban-type settlement in Zapororozhskij rajon (district) of Zaporozhskaja oblast' (province) of Ukraine. It was founded in 1600.
In 1770 it was named Kushugumovka, by the name of the river Kushugum, which run here until Kakhovsky reservoir creation (the name of the river, in turn, comes from the Turkic Kuchuk-Kum, which means "fine sand"). In 1777 the owner, Countess Catherine Skavronskoy, renamed it to Katerinovka.
