residence, Horace Trumbauer (architect), historical layer / disappeared object
Former English-Regency mansion designed c. 1917 by Horace Trumbauer for department store owner Morris L. Clothier. After being used by the non-profit Foundation for Islamic Education, it was demolished to be replaced with a middle school. While some of the architectural elements were salvaged, it is little solace for what would have been a great adaptive reuse.
