Former country house of banker George F. Tyler, and his wife, the sculptress Stella Elkins, granddaughter of Philadelphia traction magnate William L. Elkins. The architects were Willing, Sims, & Talbutt, and the decorator was Henry Davis Sleeper. Most of the interiors in this 300 ft. long chateauesque house are in grand French or English styles, but in the basement is a pub, often used for hunt events, in the manner of an early American pine kitchen, a signature of Sleeper's repeated for many of his plutocratic clients. The estate included extensive formal gardens, a servant's village, and an orangerie.

"Indian Council Rock" was left by the Tylers to Temple University, which turned it over to Bucks County Community College, which operates it today
