The 75-foot long John Bright Covered Bridge was originally built in 1881. It originally stood over Poplar Creek near Carroll, Ohio.
A single-span inverted Bowstring and Burr arch truss 75' long. the bridge has a unusual Bowstring truss. There are only two Bowstring truss bridges in the United States. It is thought that the Burr arch was added after the 1913 flood and the opposing angles of the Bowstring and the Arch give the bridge its truly unique character.
It was moved to this site over Fetters Run on the Ohio University Lancaster Branch Campus in 1988.
