The castle was built by the Count Frantisek Antonin Sporck, one of biggest personality of Czech Baroque in 1718 as a summer residence for meditation and bird hunting. Large reconstruction was made in 1762-1768 by the architect Ignazio Palliardi. After 1816 the castle was in the ownerschip of Count of Thun Hohenstein family, later in 1905 was in the possession of Count of Kinsky. After 1945 the garrison of Czechoslovac People´s Army. In private property at this time.
