Opened 2003 by René Redzepi and Claus Meyer. It was quickly awarded two Michelin stars, the first Danish restaurant to do so, and started a "New Nordic cuisine" revolution. As of 2020, there are 16 Michelin-starred restaurants in Copenhagen. The British magazine "Restaurant" named noma the "Best Restaurant in the World" in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014; as of 2019 it is ranked 2nd.
