Fort Durg

Hill of Durg (1108 m), surrounded by thick forest. The temple at its base is a great place to spend a night. A bullock-cart road now reaches a short distance from the temple. There is nothing on the top. Since, it is not situated at the edge, the views are also limited.

  • the way to reach durgwadi. Junnar - aptale - Kaldare - Ingloon - turn left for Ambe - a ghat starts - when you reach the top - turn right - the Hanuman mandir at ambe is good for night stay - durgwadi is 2-3 km away from ambe.
  • Can also be reached through the following : 1. Through Khutedhara Ghaat (from Rampur); which will take atleast 5-7 hours depending on your endurance level. 2. Through Trigundhari Ghaat (Doniche Daar) which will take 5-7 hours depending on your endurance level. 3. Through Dhakoba fort dense forest. 4. Through Daarya (amboli) Ghaat.
  • Very nice info. Thanks. Do you belong to this region or some nearby place?
