Holy waters of Tiruchendur (pl read info)

During the Tsunami of December 2004, huge waves of water swept in to the land in many places. But in these holy waters, a miracle took place. The waters receded far away in to the sea itself instead of entering the land. The miracle is said to have been played by Lord Muruga of the Tiruchendur temple.

  • hai friend your are correct, but please to know that some people(including me) are beliving this wonder happened becasue of the muruga peruman arul(blessing), i know very well that, thiruchendur is hidden by sri lanka & also this land location is like that. Many miracle happening like this around the world. even i am beliving, beliving only hold as alive.
  • I also don't agree for mischiefs at senthur. If anything should happen to tamils, it should be all over where tamils are living. Peruman is belived to be a Tamil God. Tamils are not only living in Thiruchendur. Those who lost their lives at Nagai, Cudaloor and Chennai are also Tamils and belivers of Muruga. Do not not shrink yourself to some foolish beliefs. Wide open your eyes.
  • Well, non-believers can always find a "rational" explanation to disprove a "miracle". But, hey you believers! Yeah, dont get carried away by superstitious beliefs. BUT DONT BE BLIND TO REAL MIRACLES EITHER!! Did you know that even parts of Tiruchendur town (even the areas in the vicinity of the temple!) experienceD quite serious floods during the tsunami, but the temple itself was unaffected? If you'd like to believe that Murugan is inactive, simply sitting still in His temple, then you'll be hunting for a rational explanation even if a real miracle happens. But for the believer, even a shower of rain from the skies will be a blessing from Lord Murugan who has been pleased with the believer's visit to the temple. What do I think? Its a miracle, DEFINITELY! Those who originally built the temple - what did they know about location or promimity to any fault in the earth's crust? They followed the divine signals of the day and believed it was the best place to construct the temple. And even the tsunami couldnt touch it!

  • The receding of water to about a kilometer happened only on the day of Tsunami in December 2004.
