In old maps,its name is Naro Dheri and is situated on the main route to Rani Ghat(ruling place of Rani Kot Rani).First settlers here were Phulil Khan, Haji Gulber and Gul Zar Khan's(father).All people here migrated from Maneri Bala and have deep family roots with all khels of this great village.The people of Maneri were the first one who refused to give kalang (annual share) to the Khan of Zaida and fought a bloody war at Badrai (Maneri Khwar near Girl College now).Approximately seventy to eighty people died in this war against repression but after that many villages started to refuse kalang. Maneri is popular for its brave Yousaf Zai Pathans. (By Usman)
