This plant was opened by the Japanses as the Kanegafuchi Spinning Mill. It was bombed by US forces during the Korean war, and rebuilt afterwards.
Factory named after Kim Jong Suk in accordance with the Decree of Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly № 2076 of December 21, 2011.
