The 163,000 sq. ft., nine story, art deco style Shorecrest Hotel was built in 1925. It's now an 116 unit apartment building.
The building was once the location of Snug's Restaurant - a favorite haunt of local gangster Frank Balistrieri. Snug's closed in 1996. The hotel still houses a restaurant, called the Savoy Room. The Savoy Room is located on the ground floor, facing Prospect Avenue.
