The Miami Beach Convention Center opened in 1957.

Miami Beach Convention Center is an indoor arena in Miami Beach, Florida and it is currently the largest convention center in the Miami area. It hosted the 1968 and 1972 Republican National Convention as well as the 1972 Democratic National Convention. It was also site of the boxing match between then Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston in 1964.

The convention center was also home to the ABA's Miami Floridians, Which many consider to be South Florida's first basketball team, from 1967-1972.

It now features 4 large rooms each holding about 12,000 people and holds various events throughout the year, such as the annual Miami Auto Show.
