West Palm Beach, also known as West Palm, is the most populous city in Palm Beach County, Florida, USA. The city is also the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. According to the University of Florida's 2006 estimates, the city had a population of 107,617. West Palm has a much larger unincorporated population estimated at upwards of 250,000. The city's Urbanized Area has an estimated population of almost 1.3 million.

It is the county seat of Palm Beach County, and one of the principal cities in the South Florida metropolitan area. The area is known as the West Palm Beach--Boca Raton--Boynton Beach MSA, which covers the entire Palm Beach County area. It is situated in the northernmost county of the South Florida metropolitan area.

  • I agree 110%. WPB is the place to be. The beautiful beaches, the blue waters, Palm Beach Island is amazing. My relatives live just north of the Breakers. Jupiter, Florida north of WPB has this great park, it is actually an inlet, but it was perfect for snorkling.
  • Most of the West Palm Beach area is very low income and high crime. West Palm Beach proper is the 14th most dangerous city of its size in the United States.
