This is the former site of Cielo Studios and the long time home of Gordon McClendon. McClendon was the owner of KLIF-AM, 1190 kHz, in Dallas, and one of the originators of the top-40 radio format. McClendon made a couple of very forgettable movies here, and apparently some TV shows as well. McClendon was very well known and among his frequent house guests was John Wayne.

  • When I was a kid playing in bands from Carrollton Texas, we occasionally would get a gig playing at "Cielo". We were just snot nosed kids playing top 40 covers, but the guests were anything but kids... there was a whole lot going on that would have probably gotten him in trouble now...
  • I use to be the housekeeper and cook and husband was grounds keeper in the year 1981-1982 for gordon and Billy Forman was Jerry Lester what a memory that is. Loved it.
