Designed by Halsey, McCormack & Helmer who also built Brooklyn's Williamsburg Savings Bank. Its high clock tower is a recognizable feature in the area. Both the bank's interior and exterior are designated a New York City landmark. The main banking hall features murals illustrating scenes from the Bronx’s early settlement history by Angelo Magnanti. It was most recently used for Apple Savings Bank.
