V-3 Bunker Complex Eastern Site

Nazi "V-3" Concept for shelling London with long range 15cm artillery shells, accelerated by air pressure inlets. Whole construction was in an underground bunker complex which was destroyed by RAF and USAAF in summer 1944.
The complex is also called "Fortresse de Mimoyecques". There is a monument for Joseph Kennedy.

  • The site is heavily cratered, some of these being made by "Tallboy" bombs. The major damage to the slab though was caused by the demolition charges set by the Royal Engineers. This was to prevent any danger of future use being made of the site.
