Aside from serving as one of two end zones at the old Giants Stadium, the North End Zone was also widely reported to be the burial site of Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa. Hoffa's well-publicized disappearance in July 1975 following a meeting with a New Jersey based Mafia-linked Union boss led many to speculate that Hoffa's body had been buried at some location in Giants Stadium, then under the final stages of field construction.
Though many different groups have conducted extensive research into the supposed burial site in the North End Zone or the mysterious "20 yard line lump", no evidence of Hoffa's body was ever found while the stadium was standing, nor after the demolition of Giants Stadium in 2010.
