railway, railroad yard, historical layer / disappeared object

This was the site of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Waldo Ave. freight yard. The northern lead track swung off from the old main line (Jersey City branch) at WALDO interlocking and the southern approach swung off from the Exchange Place viaduct shortly before the station complex itself.
The southern approach was abandoned in the 1960s after the Exchange Place terminal was closed and demolished, along with the viaduct leading to it. The yard was abandoned around 1980 and completely removed by 1990.
