This is a rotary interchange between Interstate 395 (Shirley Highway) and Virginia Route 402 (Shirlington Circle) in Shirlington, Virginia. Shirlington Circle has several roads radiating from it including (running clockwise from the south) Virginia Route 402 (North Quaker Lane), Campbell Avenue, Shirlington Road, and Gunston Road. In the southbound direction, the interchange shares a collector-distributor road along Interstate 395 with Exit 7 at Virginia Route 120 (South Glebe Road). The interchange also includes a ramp to the north accessing the I-395 Express Lanes towards Washington, DC. The interchange was first built in the 1940s as a rotary, but was reconstructed to its current configuration as a more oblong ellipse in 1973.
