The modern Rock Prairie Road was developed in the late 1980s adjacent to the rural (two-lane) Rock Prairie Road, though they connected in the early 2000s, even after multiple extensions of Rock Prairie, one that connected it from Victoria to Wellborn, and one that brought it to Dowling.
