The grid is confiscated during the First World War.
In 1920 is reinstalled the iron grid of the well (donated by General Falkenhayn in 1916) on the top having a stork with a snake in its beak.
In 1948 the communist authorities decide to make a park in Piata Mare/Large Square, the fountain and the statue of St. John of Nepomuk being demolished.
The current fountain is a replica, made in 2005-2006, located 10 meters southeast of the original location.
