M Social Hotel New York Downtown

588-foot, 58-story modern international-style hotel completed in 1992. Designed by Eli Attia Architects, the building is slender slab of black-tinted glass supported by hidden aluminum mullions. Its frameless windows blend harmoniously with its skin. The low-rise parking garage on the rear of the building is clad in black-glazed brick and accessed from Fulton Street. The Church and Fulton Street lobby entrances both have long, curved metal and glass canopies that extend far out to almost the curb.

The owners chose to intentionally misspell the hotel's name for many years, when there should be another 'n' in Millennium, because they thought it was distinctive and more visually balanced. The building suffered extensive damage from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. It was completely refurbished and reopened in May of 2003.

After another renovation in the 2020's by Mazzarini & Co., the former Millennium Hilton reopened as the M Social Hotel New York Downtown.
